Welcome Back To School

The Lower School works hard to solicit student ideas, from new playground equipment to the summer reading books to the matter of returning to school under COVID 19.   Hearing student ideas helps us understand what they experience, and it is important we honor their voices.

Returning to school for all students – virtual and on campus – was a new experience unlike any other, and so we wanted to understand what it was like for them. We are happy to share some of their responses here.

As we listened to students and recorded their ideas, we were delighted to hear that while there were many unknowns, there was also a certain stability that the Lower School could provide: whether masked or online, the Lower School remains a source of fun and learning, and, we hope for everyone, a source of stability and joy!
