DE360° Specialty Activities and Enrichment classes begin on Monday, October 11. Children may join us to enjoy everything from Cooking Classes on Mondays to Gardening on Wednesdays and the Artists Studio on Fridays in the “Clubhouse.”  We’ve also partnered with fantastic experts in athletics (Fencing, Lax/Hockey, Running, Soccer, and Tennis), Chess, Coding, Graphic Arts, Theatre and French to offer outstanding skills-building at all levels – beginner, intermediate and advanced – in those specialized areas. Click here for more information and to register.

Oh and there’s one more piece of exciting news:  We’re offering Discovery Day Adventures when school is not in session. The October 18th trip to Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff with private hayrides, a petting zoo visit and pumpkin picking is full.  Registration is now open and available for our next trip on Friday, November 5 to Tenafly Nature Center where the children will make apple cider, go on nature hikes and meet the great raptors of TNC. Click here for details and registration.

Note: Fees apply for all DE360° Offerings.

We’ve heard from so many families already, which is fantastic.  Check out some of the Frequently Asked Questions below:

FAQs

Who’s on the AfterCare Team?

We have an amazing team of professionals who will lead students in Homework Club as well as activities like cooking, arts and crafts, yoga, games, and sports challenges. Lower School children may already know core members of the team like Ms. Sharon, Ms. Katherine, Ms. Madison, Chef Alex and Ms. Ruchi.  We also have new staffers joining us this year who are eager to help reinforce learning as well as help kids explore something new.

How does my child get to class?

Children will be escorted to their designated area in Drapkin or Umpleby Hall for AfterCare or Enrichment check-in after dismissal.

How does pick up work?

Parents pick up their children outside of Drapkin Hall or Umpleby. Programming for Preschool through Kindergarten will take place in Drapkin, and students in grades 1-5 will be in Umpleby.  Call the AfterCare Programs Director line at (201) 289-2283 when you arrive for pickup. Students are signed out by their group leader and will be escorted to your car.  Students are not allowed to leave unless with a parent or an authorized caregiver.   Older Lower School students who are scheduled to take a late bus home will be escorted by a staff member to the appropriate bus.

How do we register and what are the fees?

Please click here to register for AfterCare and Enrichment Options. All payments are made through Smart Tuition. Prices are adjusted for recipients of D-E financial aid.  Please contact marcia@d-e.org directly to apply discounting.

Registration for AfterCare is available as a weekly or daily option. AfterCare is $70 per day for pre-registered students; drop-in arrangements are $75 per day.  Snacks and materials are included in the cost.

Enrichment classes are $750 for the term and include Clubhouse offerings on the given day of the class.  Clubhouse offerings include a snack after school, Homework Club, as well as other supervised activities until pick-up.  Parents should expect students to be done with specialized activities and available for pick-up approximately one hour past the listed start time.

*Online Only Enrichment Classes/price $650 for the term

Note that Lower School students may participate in Clubhouse activities (such as Homework Club, Cooking, Gardening and Visual Art) as drop-ins or regularly scheduled students for a particular day of the week – click the links above for descriptions. Parents should expect students to be done with specialized activities and available for pick-up approximately one hour past the listed start time. The final student pick-up time for ACE should be no later than 6:15 PM.

Note: To enroll your child in the daily AfterCare program as a “drop in,” you must call the office before 1:00 PM that day (fees apply). Children picked up after 6:30 PM will be charged a substantial late fee ($5 per minute). If a child is repeatedly picked up late, they will no longer be able to participate in the AfterCare Program.

What are the Enrichment options?

We have a robust set of Enrichment options that will be available to students beginning in October. If you’re interested in areas like French, Tennis, Fencing, Theatre, Chess, App & Graphic Design and StixSkills (Hockey & Lacrosse). See Fridge Grid for a detailed schedule.

What COVID-related safety measures are in place?

As a matter of safety, rest assured that we will continue to follow all COVID protocols as prescribed by Dwight-Englewood and local authorities.  For more detailed information regarding policies and procedures, please contact a DE360° Team Member at de360info@d-e.org

We’re excited about our time together this academic year.
