Our new LS Online Distance Learning approach uses several digital (online) tools, called  “platforms,” to create virtual learning environments. Some platforms are “synchronous,” and are provided in a real-time, dynamic way. Other platforms are “asynchronous” and involve recorded information, videos, presentations, etc. Below are descriptions of these platforms and how they are being used.

Platforms: Fostering Connections while “Physical Distancing”

Meeting Platform: Whole Group and Small Group Interaction and Engagement

  •  Zoom

Instructional Platforms: Teacher/Student Interaction:

  • See-Saw Plus
  • Google Classroom
  • Khan Academy Kids

Maintenance and Extra Practice for All: Student Independent/ Teacher Monitoring

  • ALeKs
  • Reading A to Z

Tech Safety and Passwords:

Please note these tech safety and password directions which are in place to protect your child’s and your family’s security.

Accessing the Lower School LS Distance Learning Launch Pad (“The Launch Pad”)

Accessing LS Zoom Classes

To ensure safety,  Zoom passwords have been created for all LS teachers in each Grade, and these Zoom passwords will be needed for your child to participate in synchronous lessons and activities. LS Parents/Guardians have received this Zoom password information separately, by Email. We suggest you print out this information which is in printable / downloadable PDF format, and can be printed at home.

Thank you in advance for not sharing passwords for The Launch Pad or Zoom Classes with people not affiliated with the Dwight-Englewood community.  Our collective attention to password protection is very important.
