What is the Super Bowl?  Where Are the Great Pyramids?  What Was the Women’s Rights Movement?  Where Is the Bermuda Triangle?  Have you ever wondered about these topics?  Well, the fourth graders certainly have!  For the past few weeks, they have become experts on these subjects and so many more!

Students in 4G, 4SCG and 4R have been busy with their combined reading and writing Research Project unit.  Taking the skills that they learned from the most recent non-fiction units, the students have been researching their chosen topics by reading various non-fiction books (hybrid texts, articles found on the search engine Britannica School, articles and books from the LS on-line library, MackinVIA), taking careful notes, working on a display poster, and crafting an informational essay.

Many fourth graders have already shared their expertise with their classmates, while others are actively working on this project.  Always an engaging and exciting unit, it’s so amazing to see these students research, write, and present … important lifelong skills to embrace and possess!
